Ian James McCoy

Beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Ian was a bright light with a hearty laugh, big smile, wicked sense of humor and beautiful blue eyes. Ian loved to help others, tinker with his tools, play video games with his buddies, and hang out with his family. Ian loved animals, especially his cats Toby and Nim.

Ian is a 2008 graduate of Berne Union High School. Ian then went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps. After the Marines, Ian completed his journeyman electrician training and worked various electrician jobs in Oregon and Washington.

Ian is survived by parents, Chris and Dawn McCoy, sister, Kelsey McCoy, niece, Jade Flowers, Uncle and Aunt, Mike and Lisa McCoy, Uncle and Aunt Nick McCoy and Bonnie Hertz, cousins, Nate, Maddie, Lilly McCoy, and other extended family and friends.

Because of Ian's love for animals, any contributions could be made to Fairfield County Humane Society in Ian's name.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 12:00 PM -3:00 PM at HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME, 436 N Broad Street, Lancaster, Ohio. A time for sharing memories of Ian will take place at 2:30PM.
