LANCASTER: James Kenneth Swisher Jr. 91, of Lancaster, passed away on December 17th, 2016 at Crestview Rehabilitation. He was born on February 19th, 1925 in Connellsville, PA to the late James K. and Lavelle Swisher Sr. Kenny served in the United States Navy during WWII and was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba from 1943 to 1946. He was also a member of Hope Community Church of the Nazarene.
Kenny is survived by his children: Lynn (Jeff) Gordon, and Lon (Mary) Swisher; grandchildren, Justin (Claudette) Gordon, and Jennifer Ashley Conley; great-grandchildren, Austin, Aiden, Makenna, Lilly and Harper; brothers; Donn Swisher, and Hugh (Nancy) Swisher; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Shuping.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine Swisher.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 22nd, 2016 at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 3PM-6PM, as well as one hour prior to the service. Burial is to follow at Betzer Cemetery in Carroll, OH.
