Janice (Jan) L Hershberger, former 70-year resident of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina on May 24, 2026. She was born in October of 1934, in Fall River, Massachusetts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Clair” Hershberger, and by her daughters Kathleen, Catherine, and an infant daughter. She is also preceded in death by her sister Doris Entwistle and is survived by her sister Ann Poremba.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Jones of Arcanum, Ohio; Janet (Bruce) Gerken of Lancaster, Ohio; Beth (John) Thompson of Orient, Ohio; and Peg (Mark) Bingham of Delaware, Ohio. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Margo) Hershberger Jr. of Moorpark, California; William (Mandie) Hershberger of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Michael (Nancy) Hershberger of Lancaster, Ohio. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
