
John C. Goeller, 89, passed away December 12, 2012 at LanFair Center in Lancaster. John was born November 7, 1923 in Circleville, Ohio to the late John and Freda Eckert Goeller. He moved to Daytona Beach Florida where he graduated from Seabreeze High School in 1941 and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1948 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was married to Ruth M. Justus of Circleville, Ohio in 1948 and worked as an Engineer for Carter Oil Company in Southern Illinois from 1948 – 1952. John moved to Lancaster Ohio in 1952 and worked for Diamond Power Specialty Corporation from 1952 – 1985 as a Design Engineer. John served his country during World War II in the Army Air Force from 1943 to 1946 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster Ohio, 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and Honored by the State of Ohio in 2003 as an Adult Volunteer of the Year for his work at LanFair Center.
Survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Goeller, daughter Carolyn Goeller (Steven Ness), son J. Chris Goeller (Terice), grandchildren Amie Kozicharow (Adam), Leigh Dixon (Chris), Alex Goeller-Ness, Lauren Goeller-Ness and five Dixon great-grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by his parents and sister Carolyn Gans.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Lancaster with Reverend Matthew L. Richardson officiating. A private burial preceded the service. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Church.
