

LANCASTER: John C. Woodard, 86, of Lancaster passed away Saturday November 5th, 2016 at Grant Medical Center. John was born October 8th, 1930 in Creola, Ohio to the late Albert J. and Jenny Woodard. John was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 11, the Masonic Lodge #57 F&AM, the Mount Pleasant OWSJ #57, the North Canton Eagles and the First United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his wife W. Lois Woodard; sons, Glenn and Greg Woodard; step-sons, Gary Brooks, David (Deanna) Brooks and Wade (Karen) Huffman; sisters, Martha (Bud) Leming and Sarah (Claude) Bentley; 3 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Woodard; brothers and sisters, Flossie Woodard, Della Snyder, Marvin Woodard, George Woodard, Albert Woodard Jr., Fanchion Bowers, and Grace Woodard.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME at 10AM with Rev. Cheryl Foulk officiating. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 2-4PM & 6-8PM at the funeral home. Mason funeral services will be conducted by the Masonic Lodge #57 at 7:30PM on Wednesday. Burial is to follow at Elk Cemetery in McArthur, OH.
