

June Flora Wasem, age 85 of Thornville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Pickering House Hospice, in Lancaster, Ohio. June was born March 15, 1940 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Earl and Dorothy (Clark) Wasem. After high school June joined the United States Navy, where she served as a medic from 1958 to 1961. After June’s service to her country, she held many roles throughout her life, but when she wasn’t working, she enjoyed gardening and sewing. Especially making handmade quilts, which she lovingly gave to her family, friends, and neighbors throughout the years. She was a member of Columbus Restoration Branch. June is survived by her loving children; John Irvin, of Columbus, Ohio, Steve (Rebekah) Irvin of Brooksville, Florida, Cindy (Craig) Lewis of Mansfield, Ohio; her brother; Lewis Wasem of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren; Kacey (Michael) Schneider of Mansfield, Ohio, Matthew (Kara) Irvin of San Jose, Costa Rica, Chloe (fiancé Charles Myer) Lewis of Mansfield, Ohio, and Clayton Lewis of Mansfield, Ohio. Seven great grandchildren, five nieces, one nephew, and 8 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother, James Wasem.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday April, 7, 2025 from 5-7 at the Halteman Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, 436 N Broad Street, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, for a celebration of June’s life.
