Keith "Pete" Cullumber

Keith “Pete” Cullumber, age 84 of Lancaster, passed away Sunday morning, December 29, 2013 at Crestview Nursing Home. Pete was born June 21, 1929 in Lancaster to the late Paul and Freda (Perry) Cullumber. He was a 1947 graduate of Carroll High School and served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a Lifetime member of the Central Ohio Coon-hunters Association, member of Fairfield County and Union County Chapters of the Ohio Genealogical Society. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass in 1984 after 33 ½ years.

Pete was married to Gladys ( McCafferty) Cullumber on July 7, 1950. She survives along with children: Connie Durrett, and Ronnie (Cindy) Cullumber: grandchildren; Audrey Addison, Regina Hill, Derek (Misty Thompson) Durrett, Blake, Chris and Katie Cullumber: great grandchildren: Destini, Alexa, Sierra, Brayden, Taleah, Kristina and Taylor as well as sister, Annette (Bill) Groves, Columbus; brother, Bill (Dorothy) Cullumber of Tool, TX.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dolores Sanders, Cleburne, TX., Roger (Pat) McCafferty, Burleson, TX., Helen ( Frank) Leo, Sheridan, Ind., nieces and nephews. Pete enjoyed working on his family tree, woodworking, garden and flowers.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Smith officiating. Burial will be at Carroll Cemetery where the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail will conduct graveside rites. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions to the Fairfield County Chapter OGS, 503 Lenwood Drive, Lancaster, Ohio.
