Kenneth A. Hoch, 87 of Lancaster, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 14th, 2018 at the Pickering House. Kenneth was born on January 3rd, 1931 in Staten Island, NY to the late Frank and Lydia Hoch. He was a Graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York and served on the USS Joseph P. Kennedy Destroyer during the Korean Conflict as a Lt. J.G. Kenneth also received his M.B.A at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and was an Ohio State Professional Engineer. Kenneth was a 52 year member of the Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award. His passions were fishing in Canada, bowling at Tiki Lanes, as well as gardening and his stamp collection. He retired from Columbia Gas Transmission after 35 years of service.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edna; son, William (Amy) Hoch; daughter, Linda Kraatz; son, Eric (Barbara) Hoch; grandchildren, Andrea (Eddie) McDonie, Nathan (Hannah) Hoch, Allyson Hoch, Justin Hoch, and Benjamin Kraatz; great-grandchildren, William and Charles McDonie, as well as one on the way in December, Adalynn and Lydia Hoch, and another on the way in January; and his sister, Elinor Ewanizky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Edwin Hoch.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 27th, 2018 at 11:30AM at the First United Methodist Church (163 Wheeling St. Lancaster, OH) with Pastor Cheryl Foulk officiating. Friends and family may visit ONE HOUR PRIOR to the services at the church. Dignity Cremation is to take place through the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the John Coen Creative Ministries at the First United Methodist Church, or to the Charity of your choice.
