
Larry O. Gower, Sr., 74, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Pickering House. He was born June 12, 1941 in New Lexington, Ohio, the son of the late Harvery and Ruth (Harper) Gower. Larry was retired from Anchor Hocking, where he worked for over 30 years. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who loved storytelling and motorcycle rides. He always included his loved ones on his adventures.
Larry is survived by his longtime friend, Fermina Hoops and children Mike (Tarra) Hoops; daughters Ruth Ann Cremeans, Sherrie Ayotte and Judy Miller; son, Larry Gower, Jr.; granddaughter, Rachel Cremeans; great grandchildren Dakota and Arianna Herald; sisters, Pam Hill and Karen Ashcraft; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty (Stangler) Gower; sisters Nola Hartman, Lola Gower, Kay Henderly, Diane Lane; brothers Harvey Gower Jr., Jim Gower, and Arthur “AJ” Gower.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Kermit L. Welty officiating. Burial to follow in Grandview Cemetery, Bremen. Friends may visit Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Thanks to Fairhope Hospice and the Pickering House for the special care and compassion.
