Laurabelle Louise Eiselstein Farmer, 97, passed away peacefully Monday, September 17, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born December 9, 1920 in Arcadia, Ohio to Edward and Hazel Eiselstein. Laurabelle moved to Fairfield County in her childhood and graduated from Thurston High School Class of 1938. She retired from Ray-O- Vac Company and later from Value City Department Store, where she was a jewelry sales associate. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and most of all traveling with her daughter. Over the years they visited 47 of the 50 states, District of Columbia, Canada and The Bahamas. She was a lifetime member of Olivedale and the International Friesian Show Horse Association.
Survived by daughter Charlotte Rivers of Lancaster, nephew Stan (Debbie) Jacobs of Blowing Rock, NC, niece Julie Everett of Tuscon, AZ, grandnieces Alison (Brad) Gates of Blowing Rock, NC and Ashley Jacobs of Robertson, TX, great-grandnephew Graham Gates of Blowing Rock, NC.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband William F. Farmer, sisters Ivadale Jacobs and Madeline Powell.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Charles Wheatly officiating. Burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may visit Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
