
LANCASTER: Lee O. Barr, age 81, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his residence.
Lee was a U. S. Army veteran of Korea, and member of Mount Carmel United Church of Christ. He was involved in education during which time he was at the; Boy's Industrial School, Pleasantville High School, Liberty Union- Thurston and retired as a school administrator at Lancaster City Schools. He was affiliated with TRACO (track officials), coach and longtime track official. Lee was an avid O.S.U. and Cincinnati Red's fan he enjoyed fishing and took pride in his grandchildren and their activities.
Survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Barr; son, Mark (Piper) Barr; daughter, Karen (Tom Sheppard) Barr Curtiss; son, Max Barr; grandchildren: Jordan and Caitha Barr, and Emily and Hannah Curtiss; brothers, Dean (Pat) Barr, Glen Barr; sister, Loretta Neff; many, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Carrie Barr; sister-in-laws and brothers-in-laws; Rod Neff, Jane and Jim Severance; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Lucy Nimon.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Marilyn Miller officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
