

Leola Mardelle (Frazier) Reincke, 90, of Canal Winchester, passed into eternal life on May 15, 2024. Always known by her middle name, Mardelle was born to the late Elmer D. and Della M. (Freed) Frazier in Eagle Grove, Iowa on March 14, 1934. Mardelle married the love of her life, Cletus A. Reincke on April 10, 1953. Together, with their three children, they moved to southern California in 1965. They settled into their new home in Redondo Beach and Mardelle quickly became the skilled homemaker, wife and mother that she always dreamed about. She created a loving and nurturing atmosphere for her family. She was a wonderful cook and was excellent at sewing. She made several dresses for her daughters during their childhood years. She took delight in keeping house and working in her flower beds. She enjoyed bowling, playing pinochle, and volunteering with Little League, Girl Scouts, & various school activities. The greatest joy in her life were her 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Thomas, Jennifer, Laura, Jeffrey, Jason, Elizabeth, Joseph, April and Sumer. In 1990, in their retirement years, Clete and Mardelle moved to Lancaster, Ohio to be closer to family. She hosted many holidays and backyard gatherings. She loved attending sporting events, recitals, and concerts involving her grandchildren. In 2021, after moving into Canal Winchester Health and Rehab Center, she became “Leola” aka “the Hat-Lady". While there, she loved attending the Sunday morning worship service led by Turnpoint Church and other special musical events. She made many new friends and was dearly loved amongst the staff. She will always be known for her feisty spirit and her love for life. In addition to her parents, Leola Mardelle was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Cletus, on March 28, 2021. Also, preceding her in death, were all her siblings, Helen Wilson, Grant Frazier, David Frazier, James Frazier, Naomi Mitchell and Catherine Karr. Leola is survived by her three children, Debra (Eric) Wig of Lancaster, OH, Sherry (James) Morris of Stoutsville, OH, and Steven (Nancy) Reincke of Waynesboro, PA. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one newborn great-great-granddaughter. In addition, she is survived by one brother-in-law, David Karr and one sister-in-law, Doris Frazier, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Canal Winchester Health and Rehab for making Leola’s environment a caring and loving home. She adored you all. And, Fair Hope Hospice, a huge thank you for being there in the last few months. You provided the best love and tender care for our mom, our grandma, our great-grandma, Gigi. Dignity Cremation has taken place by Halteman-Fett and Dyer Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time.
