Madonna was a proud 1955 graduate of Junction City High School. Throughout her life, Madonna worked at several optometric offices, Fairfield Medical Center, Fairfield County ODOT Garage and served as Clerk of Lancaster City Council. She was active in the Fairfield County Republican Party. She was also a long-time member of Fairfield Christian Church in Lancaster.
Madonna’s greatest joys were her family and her faith in Jesus Christ. She deeply loved her children but her grandchildren were the lights of her life. Whether it was shopping with Katy, telling “pooky tories” on her porch while drinking hot chocolate with Josh and Jon, having tea with Hannah or watching with pride as they participated in their activities, she was a proud grandma. She was a shopaholic (especially at Value City and TJ Maxx), loved traveling, enjoyed planting flowers and making her home beautiful with furniture and antiques. She dearly loved her high-school friends and maintained friendships with them well into her ‘80’s, along with other treasured friends she met along her journey. She was a huge fan of the OSU football team and college basketball. She also enjoyed watching Joe Burrow play with the Cincinnati Bengals.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Thom) Hillberry; sons Bart (Brenda) Adcock and Brett (Chris) Adcock; grandchildren, Joshua (Shauna) Hillberry, Jon (Catherine) Hillberry, Katy (Pat) Fogarty, and Hannah Adcock; and great-granddaughter, Everly Fogarty. Madonna was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Wilma.
Madonna leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, family traditions, and many little things that made her special to those who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we are grateful for the life she lived, the love and laughter she shared, and the memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
