Nancy G. Hoffner

Nancy Grace Hoffner, 84, of Lancaster passed away on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018 at the Fairfield Medical Center. Nancy was born on November 13th, 1933 in Monongah, West Virginia to the late Henry C. and Lena E. Whitehair. She was a longtime member of the Shalom United Methodist Church in Carroll, Ohio. Nancy was a Registered Nurse and had retired from Anchor Hocking. Nancy will truly be missed by all who knew her. As her loving grandson wrote” My Grandma, who I love with my entire heart and soul Nancy Hoffner passed away a few moments ago. She was one of the kindest, and caring people I have ever known. She was always there for me when I needed her and when any one else did too. She left an incredible legacy with her family, her friends, her church and her community. This was very unexpected but I know she is in Heaven with God now. She lived an incredible, long and happy life. And was loved by everyone. She touched the lives of so many people. Especially mine. Words can’t describe this loss. I love you Grandma. So much.” Nancy is survived by her children, Ruth Stickel, and Susan (Timothy) Goettel; grandchildren, Jenna (Eric) Janik, Haylee (Brendan) Reilly, Kelsey (David) Scutti, Kaitlyn Stickel, Nathan Stickel; great-grandchildren, Moriah and Alayna Janik, Scarlett Reilly, Samuel, and soon to be born, Sadie Scutti, and Jackson Dugan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rowan D. Hoffner; siblings, Robert E. Whitehair, Cecil Whitehair, Dorothy Prahl, Mary Jo Cole and Carrie Ruffner. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 at 11 AM at the Shalom United Methodist Church (4925 Plum Rd. Carroll, OH 43112) with Rev. Peter Borhauer officiating. Friends may visit on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Private Burial is to follow at the Floral Hills Memory Garden at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shalom United Methodist Church.

Fifty yrs ago we met Nancy a nd Mary Jo and their young families in Wilmington,O.they opened their hearts their homes and their lives to the Smith Family. Teaching us bridge, chip chop and how young families could enjoy being together. Thanks for the precious memories!!!!!!!! Queon and Jackie

Nancy and I became good friends when I started cleaning for her. She always gave me great advice and shared many stories with me. I will miss her dearly. God has gained a wonderful Angel. She will never be forgotten. I loved her like family.
