

Nancy Lee (Wilson) Bailey, 85, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 14th. Nancy was born on December 21, 1940, and was the oldest of three children born to Raymond and Louise (Lowery) Wilson. Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Lancaster High School. After High School she worked as a secretary at Diamond Power. After her children got older, Nancy worked as a special needs assistant and study hall monitor for the Lancaster City Schools. Nancy retired from education and that was when her next life began. Nancy spent many days and nights at Olivedale line dancing, playing games, going to dances and attending “Second Tuesday Lunch”. The friends and memories made have been priceless. Nancy was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sugar Grove. She served as treasurer for both the church and Women of the Church. Nancy enjoyed OSU football and Joe Burrows! She would like to be remembered as a loving wife, mother, friend, a listener, counselor and most of all “Nanny” to her grandkids. Nancy is survived by daughter Lori (Lee) Hutson of Mason, OH, son Todd (Erin) Bailey of Evans, GA, granddaughters Raedden (Raquel) Robson, and Connor Bailey, grandsons Ridge (Daniel) Robson, and Brody Bailey, and nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bailey of 43 years of marriage. They were married on November 5, 1961, and her parents, sister, Cheryl Wilson, and brother, Gary Wilson, her in-laws James and Anna (Bailey) O’Dell, and Robert (Catherine) Bailey. Honoring Nancy’s wishes, cremation will take place. A visitation will be from 11-12 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to be officiated by Pastor Joseph Bartczak to follow at 12 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Halteman-Fett-Dyer,436 North Broad Street, Lancaster, OH 43130. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to Olivedale Senior Citizens of Fairfield County, 253 Boving Road, Lancaster, OH 43130.
