

NEW LEXINGTON: Nola Irene Hartman, died September 17, 2011, peacefully in her home with her family at her side. Nola was born Sept. 15, 1932 in New Lexington, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harvey Carl Sr. and Ruth Margaret Harper Gower. She was a 1950 graduate of Glenford High School, a former member of the Church of Christ in Lancaster, and a member of Ohio Bell Pioneers. She retired from Ohio Bell in 1956 as a operator.
Surviving is her husband of 56 years Willard O. Hartman, daughter Judy (Scott) Jenkinson of Athens, Ohio and son William (Amanda) Hartman of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren John William Jenkinson, Mary Margaret Jenkinson, Phillip Rawley Hartman, Matthew Bradley Hartman. Also surviving are three brothers, Harvey Carl Gower, Jr. of Somerset, Arthur John Gower of Nashport, Ohio and Larry Olen Gower of Lancaster; three sisters, Kay Henderly of Amanda, Ohio, Karen Ashcraft of Statesville, North Carolina, and Pam Hill of Hanover, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sisters Lola Ilene Gower and Diana Gower Lane, and a brother James Lee Gower. Friends may call from Tuesday, 5-8 P.M and 1 hour prior to services Wednesday at the Halteman Fett-Dyer Funeral Home in Lancaster where services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday with Bill Venrick officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. The family suggests contributions to FairHoPe Hospice or charity of choice in Nola's memory.
