Phyllis Jean Hutcheson

Phyllis Jean Hutcheson, 75, Lancaster, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Crestview Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. She was a active member of the Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church, French Colony Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Rushville Senior Citizens, Fairfield County Retired Teachers, First Families of Gallia County, over 40 years of service to the Fairfield County Board of Elections, Fairfield County Republican Party Executive Committee, President of TWIG 9 and Board of Directors of the Maywood Mission. Phyllis taught school for 53 years at Lancaster City Schools

She was born on August 29, 1936 in Gallia County, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Hutcheson; parents Carrie C. Myers & Hollis A. Myers, brother Glen Issac Myers and sister-in-law, Alice Myers.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan & Mindy Hutcheson of Lebanon, Ohio and Keith & Scarlett Hutcheson of South Charleston, West Virginia; her 7 grandchildren, Samantha, Alex, Tyler, Addison, Taylor, Peyton and Andrew; sister and brother-in-law Marilene Culp & Gary Culp of Lancaster; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alton Myers and Meg Grey of Rushville, Carroll & Charlotte Myers of Pleasantville and Darrell & Nancy Myers of Rushville, sister-in-law, Naomi Hutcheson and many nieces, nephews and cousins and devoted friend Steve Parker of Lancaster.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at Sixth Avenue United Methodist church with Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Burial will be at West Rushville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, 436 N. Broad St., Lancaster, Ohio, 43130 and one hour prior to the services Friday at the Church.

The family suggests contributions be made in her memory to the Maywood Mission, 1025 S. Broad St., Lancaster, Ohio or the Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church, 1004 W. 6th, Ave., Lancaster, Ohio, 43130.
