

Roy “Bud” Alvin Speakman, Jr., 83 of Carroll, passed away on Wednesday March 29, 2023 at Mt. Carmel East. Bud was born on September 3, 1939 in Carroll, Ohio to the late Roy and Ella (Ety) Speakman. Bud was a well-known farmer in the Carroll community and was born and raised on the farm he loved. He was a farmer all of his life but also worked for a short time as an electrician for Claypool Electric as their first employee. He was a lifetime member of New Life Christian Center where he was loved by everyone. He served as an usher for many years, was a board member for a short time, and helped in the building of the current location. In 2003, He and Arlene started traveling to Florida as snowbirds where they lived in a wonderful community and acquired many dear friends from Tennessee and Florida that became like family. He loved our Lord Jesus with a deep passion and desired to see many give their lives to Him. He loved his wife and family with just as much passion and only ever wanted the best for them. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Arlene Speakman; son, Robin (Jerene) Speakman; daughters, Danell (Dean-Andrew) Coleman and Joanna (Philip) Tabler; grandchildren, Joshua Roy (Katie) Coleman, Kaitlyn (Bobby) Pfeifer, Makenzie Speakman, Natasha Coleman, Aubrey Speakman, Dean Tabler and Hope Tabler; sisters, Elnoria Hoffman and Frances Sharp; many nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ada Mae Mohler and Mary Bell Mason. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at New Life Christian Center with Pastor Keller officiating. Burial will follow at Carroll Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at New Life Christian Center as well as 1 HR PRIOR to the service on Tuesday.
