Sherry Sue Beery, 92, of Lancaster, Ohio died in Massillon, Ohio on Saturday August 31, 2024. Sherry was born in Lancaster, Ohio in 1932 to Foster and Maxine Smith where she lived until high school graduation. Sherry attended the Lancaster City Schools including Lancaster High School before studying Elementary Education at The Ohio State University. She went on to teach with the Bexley and Lancaster City Schools.
Sherry is survived by son, Douglas (Maria) Beery, grandchildren, Kayla Beery, Kent Beery, and Zoe Beery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W Beery and parents, Foster and Maxine Smith.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday September 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM with viewing one hour prior to the start of the service at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be on Wednesday September 4, 2024 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.
