Shirley Elizabeth Huffer

Shirley E. Huffer, 86 of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Shirley was born on August 8, 1938, in Pickaway County, Ohio to the late Maurice and Hilda Francis. She worked for many years as a nurse’s aide and loved helping people. She was very spirited, enjoyed puzzles, loved going to little diners, and was very proud to have been baptized in her 70’s.

Shirley is survived by her children; Sandy “Chip” (Renee) Huffer, Randy (Laura) Huffer, and Roger (Amy) Huffer; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Heather, Julia, Rylee, and Marlee; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Susan (Michael) Gudell, Nora Kitchen and Thelma Yeager; along with many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L. Huffer; son, Richard Huffer; and her siblings, Richard Francis, George Francis, Louise Smith, and Clara Parker.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the visiting nurses and nurse’s aides that cared for Shirley during her time of need.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 1PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Paul Wymer officiating. Burial is to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 11AM-1PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to off-set the funeral expenses.
