Virginia R. Wentz, 94, of Sugar Grove, left this life on Earth peacefully, on Monday, September 13, 2021 to spend the first of many joyous birthdays with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on September 20, 1926, in Delta, Ohio, to the late Herbert and Ruth (Peters) Mattin. She was a member of the Fifth Avenue Church of Christ, was the co-owner of D & R Automatic Car Wash, and was retired from the Drew Shoe Corporation in Lancaster. Daughter, Sharon (Bob) Doherty; sons Larry R. (Bobbie) Wentz, Jerry A. (Anna) Wentz; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross A. Wentz, of 64 years, son Garry Lee; parents, Herbert and Ruth Mattin; brother, Robert Mattin; sister Irene (Cliff) Shelt; and great-grandson, Seth M. Hintz. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Mount Carmel East, the nurses and aides (especially AlIi) at AlterCare- Canal Winchester, and all of the Mount Carmel Hospice doctors, nurses, and Chaplains. We would also like to thank all of our friends for your love, support, and prayers.
