William Zane “Bill” Rowland, 76 of Athens, passed away, Sunday February 12, 2017. Bill was born January 4, 1941 in Hocking County, Ohio the son of the late William C. Rowland and Mary Kline Rowland. He was a 1959 graduate of Lancaster High School.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie (Ruff) Rowland, son, Joshua (Tiffany) Rowland; grandsons, Elliot and Wyatt Rowland; sisters, Janice (Mark) Hale and Beth (John) Douglas; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his son, Wesley Rowland, parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Rose Ruff.
Funeral service will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Bill Venrick officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
