

William Richard McCoy, 76, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 in his residence. He was born on August 12, 1935 in Richwood, WV a son of the late Paul and Ruth (Irvin) McCoy. He was the former owner of McCoy’s Sunoco. William enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He liked antiques, coins and listening to big band music.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty (Wright) McCoy; son, Martin (Tonya) McCoy all of Lancaster; two daughters, Penny McCoy of Opelika, AL and Kitty McCoy Butterbaugh of Lancaster; brothers, John (Jerry) McCoy of Hamilton, Raymond McCoy of Parma and Charles McCoy of Lancaster; sisters, Alice Miller, Mary McCoy all of Lancaster, Frances (Bob) Barker of Madison, MS and Mildred Sharma of High Point, NC; grandchildren, Shane, Christopher, Meghan, Drew, Jeremy and Taylor; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Trevor and Maddox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack McCoy and a sister, Polly Miller.
Friends may call Monday from 4-8 pm and Tuesday one hour prior to the service in the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am in the Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Heimbach officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
