Anne Unger

Anne Unger was born in Coaldale Alberta December 14th 1936 to David and Anna Baerg of Russia. She was named Anna, however preferred to go by the name Anne. She was one of two girls having to grow up with seven brothers in Vauxhall Alberta.

Moving to Chilliwack BC in 1954 her parents continued farming, starting a dairy farm. Church and family life was always important to Anne.

Through Anne’s involvement with church and her brothers, she met her future husband, Abe Unger. They were married on June 19th 1959. They began their journey together in Chilliwack living on Chilliwack Central Rd. and have lived in many places from then on. Highlights from those early years were the extra jobs Anne and Abe took on. Working full time in the bank during the day and cleaning schools with Abe in the evenings, there were no issues or fears when it came to work, her work ethic was still evident six months before she passed. Her attention to details prepared her well for all the administrator duties she did in their successful family business.

In 1961 they welcomed their daughter Karen into their lives and in 1963 another daughter Kimberly who passed away. Family was always important to Anne. Most holidays, weekends away always involved family. Motorhome trips down south, to times at Shuswap Lake and Tad Lake with the kids, were times that were always important to her. And when the great grand children started to arrive and take part in “these times” together, Anne really shone. From baking, to doing crafts, games, she enjoyed it all. She took a great deal of pride in caring for her family.

Anne’s attention to detail, love and care for her family will be missed. Anne will be missed by her husband Abe of 62 years and their daughter Karen & her husband Rob. Grandchildren Jonathan, Lauren, Jared and their spouses Melissa, Brent and 7 great grand children. Four brothers and their families and many work associates.
