January 16, 1987 - August 26, 2018
Our Beautiful Brittany passed away very unexpectedly on Sunday, August 26, 2018. Brittany was a wonderful daughter, sister, auntie, granddaughter, niece and friend!
Brittany was an incredibly loving person. She always went out of her way to ensure that everyone she came in contact with felt good about themselves. It didn’t matter if you were a young person or a senior citizen, Brittany would always greet you with her infectious smile and some kind words. She would never end a conversation with a family member without saying “I Love You” and she would wait until you said “I Love You” back to her, otherwise she would clear her throat or just come right out and say, “Do you love me too?”
One of Brittany’s special gifts was definitely her connection to babies. She loved them and spent much of her free time studying everything about them. When Brittany‘s niece Harper and nephew Chase were born, she couldn’t get enough of them. She would take great pride in having her picture taken with one baby in each arm and a huge smile on her face that would literally light up a room.
Brittany was a dedicated, valued and highly talented member of the Robert Malcolm Memorial Pipe Bands Grade 3 and 2 and finally the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band. Brittany was a tenor drummer who won a World Juvenile championship with RMM and two Grade One championships with SFU. The Drum Core was also judged to be the best in the world.
Individually, Brittany won five seasons of Tenor Drumming Championships. Brittany loved the outdoors and she went camping, hiking, boating whenever she could, in the summer and began snowboarding in the winter, which she also loved. She especially loved floating down the river in her inner tube.
Brittany is survived by her mom, Moira (Lee), her dad Craig, siblings Megan, Ryan (Kareen), Kristen (Richard) and Spencer. She is survived by her Grandmother, Annabelle Lee, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Our family would like to thank everyone for the incredible outpouring of support. She was truly loved and will be missed by so many people and will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Brittany's life will be held on September 29, 2018 at 1:00pm at BEREA Baptist Church, 6062 132nd Street, Surrey, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, we will be accepting donations towards a scholarship fund in Brittany’s name to help up-and-coming tenor drummers with their tuition towards local drumming schools and to have a very special Memorial trophy made in Brittany Lee Angeltvedt’s name.
The Brittany Angeltvedt Memorial Fund
At the request of the Angeltvedt family, the BC Pipers' Association is sincerely humbled to be asked to establish the Brittany Angeltvedt Memorial Fund in memory of Brittany Angeltvedt, two-time World Pipe Band Champion with the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band and four-time winner of the BCPA Grand Aggregate Award for Open Tenor Drumming.
The fund is intended to support tuition bursaries for tenor drumming education and travel bursaries for tenor drummers to compete at international tenor drumming championship events.
Donations to the fund may be made at https://www.bcpipers.org/services/donations/
Bursaries application process details will be announced at a later date.
