Chuck was born and raised in Edson, Alberta. After high school he moved to Vancouver, California and Edmonton before returning to Edson in 1967 to take over his father’s Meat Market upon Steve’s retirement. In 1980 he moved his family to Nanaimo, BC and started working for Overwaitea Foods . He continued to work as a meat cutter / meat manager for 33 years in various Save-On Foods stores in the Vancouver area until his retirement in 2014.
Chuck always had a joke, a story, a smile, a kind word, and time for everyone. Chuck was an avid reader and his hobbies included hunting, archery, gold panning, woodworking, gardening, and cooking. Making dinners, spending loving time and having fun with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends at home. And the unconditional companionship of his many past Labrador Retriever dogs; Luke, Montana Sky, Brownie, Mustang Sally, Star and current yellow Lab, “ Koda” Skywalker.
At Chuck’s request there will be no funeral service. The family will have a private celebration in the summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Langley Hospice Society, Langley Memorial Hospital, or BC Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
Beautiful memories are treasured ever,
of happy days when we were together.
