David was born in Calgary AB on May 4 1955, joining the family as the youngest of 6 children. He was an adventurous kid and learned from a young age the importance of hard work and compassion.
David met his beloved wife Sheila and in 1980 they were married. They began a wonderful life together in Calgary completing their family with 3 children. Spurred on by a career change, David moved his family to Kelowna, BC in 1991 which brought on many new opportunities and a beautiful place to raise their children. 2004 brought another change, moving to New Westminster for a promotion, then onto Langley a few years later to be closer to his son.
David dedicated most of his career to the role of Production Manager, earning a reputation among his employees as a fair and compassionate leader. Renowned for his problem-solving skills, he was often referred to as the ‘Fix-It Guy.’
David had many passions in his life with his love language being rooted in food. Cooking a big meal was one of the many ways he expressed his affection for his family. Golf held a special place in his heart, serving as both a favourite pastime and a means of bonding with many cherished friends and family. In his later years, gardening was another beloved hobby, he was proud of his gardens and loved to share the bounty with his family and neighbours. After retiring, David dedicated time to volunteering, contributing his efforts to Langley Meals on Wheels in the kitchen, then at Penny Pinchers Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store.
David was a devoted husband and an exceptional father, taking great pride in the achievements of his children. Becoming a Grandpa was a highlight of his life, and we all felt so lucky to have him in ours. His gentle and caring nature is dearly missed by all those who know him. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Sheila (née Norris), children Tyler (Shannon), Mallory (Josh), Brett (Kaori), 6 grandchildren; and Sisters MaryLynne and Sharleen. He is predeceased by his Parents Peter and Sylvia Yarrow; Brothers Dennis and Joe; and Sister Dianne.
