Uncle Den, Having spoke to you just a couple of days before, your passing came with great shock! Not only had I lost a great Uncle, I wasn't sure if I ever told you how great that day fishing was off Ambleside. I've got loads of great memories and they all stem from a person who listened and then encouraged me with the fact that anything was possible. You had your ways as we all do, but you took the time and showed me some of the greatness you found in Canada. The sports and hobbies and later on when back in England ....The PUB!!! 
I left this till today because today would have been your birthday so CHEERS Uncle Den Your the greatest.
I miss ya and will always love my memories of you.

I met Mocky when I started at Air Canada and we golfed  together many times over the years. When we retired in April of 2001, we became good friends and Tim Dinelle, Mark Woodiwiss,  Mocky and I golfed a lot together and went on quite a few road trips and as a fearsome foursome, we played in every AC tournament out at Redwoods in Langley--Photo attached).. I will never forget Mocky pulling out his bright White rubber rainsuit every time it would start to drizzle and, at the same time he would be rolling a cigarette in his left hand. Needless to say, we always had to have a few pints after each and every round we played, some even while we played. I have many great memories of our time spent together----I will miss you Den, you were a wonderful MATE to me--RIP, good buddy-----Dave Arrowsmith.

Den, you were a dear and loving brother and I couldn't wish for better.  You showed us other siblings love, friendship and help when needed.  Kindness and humour were just a couple of your endearing qualities - your sense of fun and adventure was second to none. While you're in that 'better place', look after Mum and Dad and give them our love.  Rest in Peace Den and know that we all love and miss you for ever.

So sorry to hear of Denny's passing. He was a good friend to have a coffee or a beer with. Condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Mocky.

A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words! 

Anyone who ever had the privilege of meeting Dennis can relate to this picture (Denny's 70th Birthday). I think it shows the kind of character he really was. Do you know any other senior citizen who would let his best buddies have a game of darts "on him"? Mocky was always up for anything, always laughing, joking and living life to the fullest every single day. 

Dennis and I became goods friends while working together at Air Canada. He has remained one of my best friends for over 32 years. Dennis was always there for you and would be the first to offer any help you needed. If you had Dennis for a friend, you had a friend for life. 

We spent many hours together playing golf, throwing darts, shooting pool and sharing a "few" pints.  We traded many stories and during our conversations he would often mention his family and how proud he was of them. 

Dennis instantly touched everyone he met with his outgoing personality and dry sense of humour. Mocky was not afraid to give a friend a hug and tell them how he felt.  A genuinely honest man who will be missed every single day by everyone who knew him. 

Your next dart throw is a "180" and your tee shot an "ACE". 

Thanks mate for all the fun memories. That is how I will remember you.

I worked with Denny for 11 years in Vancouver and spent many days playing golf and darts and also sharing our boxing stories together.He was great fun to be with and I will miss him immensely.

Dennis and Don carpooled together for many years,he became a very good friends, spending many of Christmases with us when we lived in Langley. later when we moved to Shuswap he would let us stay with him when we were in Langley, he and don would sit and talk  AC and golf,  over a few beer they usually managed to get a golf game before we came home.Dennis I am going to miss you,you were a great guy. love you Don andJean Holt (tiger)

I met Dennis on Apr. 08 1974, I was an AC new hire, Dennis a transfer from LHR
He was put into a class of wide eyed clueless 20 year olds, he being pro at the job already.
He took us all under his wing and became our mentor, he knew so much more than even the instructors did.
Over the years he taught me(sorta) how to play darts and throw back a few good pints.
We didn't live close, so didn't see too much of him after he retired but I'll never forget him.
First class man who will be missed by all that knew him.

The first time I worked with Dennis. I was his lead hand for a short time. The crew was called the English Connection. A great group of guys. Dennis being the stand out. Didn't have to ask Dennis anything he was their to do it. A tough little guy and excellent worker. As well playing a game of golf, taught me a few things, forever remembered.

Getting to know Dennis and working with him with Air Canada, YVR  left many fine memories of him. He loved his golf, fishing, darts and motor cycles and loved to have a few pints at his local pub.  We fished together quite a few times locally and also had a couple of trips to a few lakes in the interior.   Just to listen to the stories about his motor bikes, his golf and dart trips, you could see how much he enjoyed himself.  I had some wild fox glove flowers growing at our place  and Dennis collected some seeds to take back to England.  He enjoyed his mom`s garden.
The good memories of you are remembered and know you will be missed by all.

Since the time Dennis was born to his passing we always kept in touch he was a very dear nephew of mine Little did i know when i had tea with him on the Tuesday before Christmas that it would be the last time i would see him i have many many happy memories of him i will miss you rest in peace dear Dennis love auntie Babs

I can honestly say I grew up in a loving home with three sisters and one older brother, by blood Dennis was a cousin , but by ways of life and the passage of time Dennis was truly a big brother to me, Where do I begin to say how much time Denny set aside to spend with me, to take me fishing on so many life threatening voyages upon the great vast deep blue sea and raging current rivers of beautiful BC,
The stories I could tell would take many pints or a pot of tea or two, with a pack fags of course, a true Proud Brit at heart and soul with the patience, kindness, caring and giving of a true proud Canadian, for Dennis was both combined, I know he is with so many loved ones on the other side now, I can see an image of my father and Denny walking down a long winding river, fish poles in hand, a brown paper bag lunch that my Mother has packed for them both, and of course yes, a trail of Rothmnas smoke slowing fading behind them, one day I will be running behind to catch up with them,  
AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE WE WILL CATCH A DAM FISH!

Denny, going to miss that dirty little laugh of yours!  Will always remember when you came to live with the "Browns" when you first immigrated.  You were always good to me to the point of driving me to work at 6AM in the morning after only 2 hours of sleep coming off your shift at the airport and many times picking me up as well.  Our trips up Indian Arm in your motor boat.  You were like a big brother to me.  My heart is heavy Denny and going to miss you cousin.  I know you're going to catch all those really big fishes that got away Mocky! See you on the other side when I get there sweet cousin!

I remember Dennis getting me to drive his car after we'd had a few ales whilst playing darts at a Canadian Legion club when I was in the army and over on exercise in 1979. Apparently I didn't have a licence to lose in Canada. He also taught me how to hit a golf ball on a pitch & put. Couldn't ask for a better cousin.

My earliest memories of Dennis were when we played together, he lived in Southville Road and I lived just around the corner in Southville Close, this was in the early fifties. We remained friends until leaving school when we lost contact. I was so glad to be able to connect with him once more, through brother Keith.

Dennis welcomed other family members to a new life in Canada with open arms.  His love of golf was shared with all who were interested.  Den loved his family and friends. He lived a full life and we are all blessed to have been given his gifts.

I don't really know how to put into words my thoughts and feelings...
The only Uncle I ever really knew and had in my life growing up. I caught my first fish with you, I learned...well I tried to learn how to golf with you. You did a lot for me and I really appreciate it. I have many memories from when I lived with you too.
You had a very kind heart and I know that we will all miss you so much.
