Born to Adolf and Julie Mantei, he grew up in Vancouver. Ed had many interests and talents. He was a keen card player, especially of cribbage. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching hockey, and visiting the casino. Ed was a handyman, and could fix all types of things.
In the 1970s, Ed decided to leave the city, and the family moved to an acreage in Langley, where they raised Highland cattle. A significant learning curve indeed.
Ed also greatly enjoyed his family, and was quite proud of everyone. He was known to brag about their accomplishments. Happy memories were made during the summers; camping and barbecuing.
Ed is survived by his wife Sylvia, and three children; Charlotte (Chris), Russell (Joan) and Clifford (Linda). Grandchildren are; Craig, Colin, Adam, David, and James. Great grandchildren are: Sebastian, Elliott, Arthur, and Margaret. Ed was predeceased by his parents, sister Selma, granddaughter Colleen, and great granddaughter Spigot.
Goodbye Dad, we love you.
