She had a profound personality, a tremendous soul and great love for her family.
Her family will remember her as a loving force of nature who carried her opinion on her sleeve. She enjoyed family get togethers, most notably the large gatherings on Christmas Eve. Betty enjoyed all family celebrations and was known for baking her famous apple pies, cabbage rolls and homemade bread for everyone to enjoy. And if you were under the weather, she would head out to buy a whole chicken to make her delicious soup with cream of wheat dumplings. The whole pot would be delivered with said homemade bread.
Elizabeth was born in Abbotsford BC to Paul and Elizabeth Brozer. 4th of 14 children she was raised on the family farm on Babich St. after first briefly living in a small house on Emerson St. near Mill Lake. She took local jobs after finishing school, most notably at Bata shoes.
In 1961 she married her cherished husband of 39 years Jack Brown. They raised their 3 children Jacqueline, Jeffrey and Jason in Surrey, BC. It was a wonderful family life. My parents were an amazing couple and the best parents. We always had dinner together and discussed days events. We had family camping trips every year to the Kootenays for three weeks at a time. They were some of the happiest memories for mom, just the five of us and the family dog Moya, in the Valiant station wagon and tent trailer. My parents would also cheer us on at sporting events and school functions. My parents were all about family and we came first.
Mom was a busy lady. Running the household and starting a home business selling Watkins spices and Avon products. She was so successful she didn’t need to have the typical product parties; customers came to her. When we completed school went on to part time jobs at Muffin Break and Churches Chicken.
Her husband Jack passed in March of 2000 after a lengthy illness of Alzheimer’s.
Beginning in the year 1996 Betty lived part time with her daughter Jackie and son in law Bruce and helped raise her grandchildren Claire and Andrew throughout their elementary years.
Eventually she moved to Langley to her own apartment.
She continued with visiting and spending time with her children Jackie, Jeff and Jason and their families for lunches, dinners and sporting events. Many celebrations of weddings, surprise parties and graduation followed. She also took many trips to Oregon to holiday with her sister Elsie, and trips to Armstrong to visit with her brother Garry and wife Rhonda.
Mom eventually moved in with Jackie and Bruce in her final year. She got to do what she wanted to do, when she wanted, have her own space, be with people who loved her and not pass alone.

Survived by daughter, Jacqueline (Bruce) Cook, daughter-in-law, Anna Brown, daughter-in-law, Karen Brown, grandchildren, Claire (Alex) Parkes, Andrew Cook, Amanda Brown, Serena (JP) Pettersen, Mitchel Brown, Adrian Brown (Sam), Madison Brown (Liam), Mckenna Brown, great grandsons, Barrett Brown and Nicos Brown.
