Gary Brian James Boyer

May 31, 1943 – June 24, 2025
Obituary of Gary Brian James Boyer
IN THE CARE OF

Henderson's Langley Funeral Home

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Gary Brian James Boyer on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Gary was born on May 31, 1943, in West Vancouver and spent his early years in the Lower Mainland. He later settled in Kamloops, where he met and married the love of his life, Suzanne. Together, they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage, raising a family and building a life filled with love and adventure.

Gary began working in construction at the age of 20, a career he continued for decades. Along the way, he mastered many trades and became known not only for his craftsmanship but for the compassion and care he brought to everything he built. His children’s homes stand today as living testaments to his talent, love, and the pride he took in his work.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Veronica Boyer; parents-in-law, Laurie and Marie Bertrand; sister-in-law Wendy Haines; niece Tracy Kapu; and nephew Jeffrey Rodgers. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne; sister Joan; brother-in-law Terry; his children: Craig (Jenn), Aaron (Robyn), and Katrina (Tyler McClendon); grandchildren: Matt (Taylor), Michael, Kathryn, Devin, Faith, Gabriel, and Colby; and great-grandchildren: Ravyn, Winter, Rosie, and Holly. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.

Gary was proud to volunteer with the Valleyview Fire Department, always ready to help out in the community he cared about. He loved cooking and baking, curling, golfing, fishing, and traveling—especially when he got to share those moments with his family.

A private family viewing and cremation have been held, with a celebration of life planned for the fall. Gary will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
