Gerry was born in Amsterdam and moved to Winnipeg at age 14. There, he married the love of his life, Olive at the age of 25. They raised their 7 children between Ladner and Langley. Together, they provided their children a great life full of family activity, sports, camping, Sunday church and dinner outings. The house was always filled with love and Dad always took the time after a long day at work to give us all hugs and kisses. He cherished every opportunity along the way to take the time to escape with Mom for a coffee.
Gerry’s career was in the dairy business, primarily with Lucerne. At the age of 52 he founded Landmark Dairy and 8 years later he successfully retired comfortably. He had a huge passion for golf that he enjoyed with a group of great friends.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Olive, his children, Neil, Monica, Paul, Sharon, Michael, Mark, and Andrea, his grandchildren, Shaun, Reid, Ryan, Dayton, Jaime, Braeden, Shay, Kolby, Grace, and Olivia.
Gerry rests in heaven after passing away due to lung complications, related to a long battle with cancer.

Be not afraid ....
For as long as I can remember, Dad would say these words in a low humming voice. I always thought it was just a habit. I realize now what these words meant to him.
On monday, I was explaining to Dad what was happening and that Mom and our family would be saying goodbye: He nodded. I said that I know he is ready and again he nodded. For his last rites he made the sign of the cross.
He was not afraid. He had no reason to be.
Everyday he lived his life with personal integrity. He was a man of his word. He was a loving father, grandfather, and husband and many more things to many others.
I will miss him dearly.
Mark
Dad
When we look into the sky and make a wish upon a star and has a wonderful place in the heavens to look ahead and inspire ourselves look at at the light but don't let it pass you bye Keep it close to your heart When I saw him doing the sign of the cross he asked God to take care of his familly and he's friends brothers and sisters and loveing wife standing near him and whispered you can lean on me to take his hand touch his heart and remember all the Good Times we had as a familly now we can follow The Journey Together.
