Jack passed away unexpectedly from sudden medical complications at the Langley Memorial Hospital on July 22, 2021. He lived with COPD and Stage 3 kidney failure for the last few years of his life.
He is predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Bernice Saunders; his parents Carl Kenneth Wilson and Doreen Vance and his brother Kenneth Dale Wilson. He leaves behind his children Dave, Ken and Debbie as well as his brother, Donald Gerald Wilson. Also mourning his passing are his brother in-law Don Yont, niece Marcie Jensen, her husband Dave Jensen and their daughter Laura; his niece Carla McLean, her husband Casey and their sons Dylan and Jaden; and his nephew Jim Wilson.
The family would like to extend much gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the LMH whom took care of Jack throughout his many short hospital visits over the last few years of his life. For the last few weeks, Jack lived at his new home at Magnolia Gardens in Langley where he thoroughly enjoyed the social activities and company of both the fellow residents and friendly staff.
Jack was also heavily involved with the Langley Seniors’ Centre including as a volunteer driver where he formed many lasting friendships over the years. In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation in Jack’s memory can be made to the Lung Foundation of Canada and/or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
A Celebration of Life to honor Jack will be held at the Henderson Langley Funeral Home on August 28, 2021 between 1:00pm and 3:00pm., Jack’s cremated remains will be interred at a small private family gathering in the Fort Langley Cemetery to be reunited with his love, Shirley.
