

Josef Rampfl, 93 years, long-time resident of Langley BC most recently of Laurel Place Surrey BC passed peacefully in the presence of family on Saturday, March 7th. Born July 26, 1932 to Johann and Johanna (nee Zupah) Rampfl in Steinfurt, Austria.
Josef apprenticed as a blacksmith in Austria, was a farm worker in Switzerland, worked on the tobacco farms and the bush in Ontario, and later in BC as a welder in the marine industry for companies such as Star Shipyard, Vitto Steel Boat and Barge, and Vancouver Shipyard. He also spent time working in the North in places such as Tuktoyaktuk and Hay River.
Josef loved his family and was married to his wife Agnes for over 50 years, working hard together and raising a family. Josef enjoyed fishing, camping, and visiting family and friends. He had a great memory for locations and street names. He will be remembered for how generous a host he was always encouraging "Eat! Eat!" and for how genuinely kind and courteous he was.
A funeral is scheduled for Monday March 16th 11 am Henderson's Funeral Home 20786 Fraser Highway Langley with a reception to follow.
