Joyce is survived by her sisters Sheila, Judy (Hank) and Mary (Bob), sister in law Maryann, daughter Catherine (Doug), and many nieces and nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Elsie O'Hara, husband Eric, sister Theresa, brother Keith, and brothers in law Reg , Gill, Ron, and Norman.
Joyce was born on January 28 in Edmonton, Alberta. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Edmonton General Hospital in 1958 and from BCIT and Kwantlan College in Occupational Health Nursing in 1985. Joyce married Eric, an RCAF officer and pilot, in 1959. After numerous postings across Canada with the Air Force, Joyce and Eric settled in Richmond, BC in 1966 when Eric became a commercial pilot; they later built a home and moved to Langley in 1991.
Joyce was accomplished in all Fabric Arts (quilting, all needle work, sewing, knitting, tatting and crocheting). She loved reading mysteries and gardening and created several butterfly and bee gardens around her home. Joyce rescued and adopted many homeless cats and dogs over the years.
A funeral is scheduled for June 6th at Henderson’s Langley Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Renaud will officiate the ceremony.

The family would like to thank Joyce's primary care provider Lori Bates N.P; Dr. Jenny J. Ko, Jody in Dr Ko's office, Dr. Bruce Keith, Dr. Waseem Sharieff, and Dr. Shrinivas Rathod at the BC Cancer Agency; and, the amazing hospital staff in the Pallative Complex Care unit in the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their care and dedication.
