Dear Dale & kids ! I was so sorry to hear of the news of Kelly. I have such fond memories of you two starting out in your early Family Life in Walnut Grove ! You were such a Happy Memory for me , and you still are ! Time goes by in such a blink of an eye these days, but I am so lucky that I have a sister to let me know of news , as she always does , that I can just jot down a few lines to let you know that you are all being thought of and prayed for today. Your Mom was such a Blessing and a tremendous person, it sure was a pleasant moment to have known her. Remeber all of the good times, because they will never ever leave you as her Love for each and every one of you will never leave her. God's Blessing... I only just heard of Kelly's passing and her battle with this horrible disease. I remember the first time that I met Kelly like it was only yesterday, at a ringette tournament in Prince George. Her enthusiasm and smile were completely infectious, and though she was on an opposing team at the time I knew then that we were going to be great friends. The next few years were years that I will always hold as special memories, as I was lucky to get to know both Kelly and Dale and they invited us into their family. We watched our girls play both Ringette and Softball together, and grow up into lovely young ladies, all the while enjoying the company of our families and developing a close bond. Though life sometimes takes us in different directions, and I had not seen Kelly or Dale for a few years, I'll never forget the impact that she had on my life and the memories that she has left with me. My heart goes out to Dale, Kacy, Tori and Adam please know that I am thinking about all of you during this very difficult time. I consider myself fortunate to have known Kelly and been able to call her a true friend. The world has lost a shining star and you will be deeply missed.

Those of us who knew Kelly now realize that our world has dimmed with the loss of this shining star. Her laughter, her smile, her stories, her dedication to her family and those she cared for was unique and unforgettable. Our sincere condolences and sympathy to the Hannesson family. We loved her too and will miss her greatly.

The Hannesson's: I didn't have the privilege of knowing Kelly for a long time, in fact, I only got the chance to spend time with her at softball Provincials last year. As has been stated, Kelly was friendIy, warm, positive & supportive. I also met Adam for the first time that weekend as well. Adam was hanging out & having fun with some of the player's boyfriends.
Tori, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you, however I know you attend UVIC and I can imagine your Mom was very proud of you continuing your education.
Kacy, Your sense of humour, determination, athletic abilities are just some of your attributes that would have brought your mom great pleasure.
Dale, I can't even imagine how hard it is for you having your partner in life succumb to cancer. Words seem so insufficient to express my heartfelt sorrow for your loss!
Thinking of all of you during Kelly's memorial and wishing for you a wonderful day of tributes to her life!
Sincerely, Tracey Dyck

To the wonderful Hannesson family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Kelly was never just "Kacy's Mom", she was a second mom to all of us. She was always the one you would go to for advice, for a hug, for a laugh or for a confidence boost, and was always the loudest voice coming from the peanut gallery. She was the woman that taught us all to be proud of who we are and to not take life too seriously.

Growing up with Kelly as a support system is something that has made me, as well as many people, the people that we are today.

She will be loved forever and never forgotten.

I love you guys,

Bailey Hathaway

To the Hannesson and the Smith family. We are so dreadfully sorry for your loss. My mind swirls with images of Kelly with the kids, Kelly with Dale, of the times we would meet in some random store, on the street, being at your wedding, you two in school... and yet the only word I can think of is, sorry.

To the Hannesson family,

I was so so sad to hear of Kelly's passing. She was such an amazing, beautiful, caring woman. Always had a smile on her face, and always looked for the good in everyone. She made everyone around her laugh. And she was always there to give me the little push I needed, whether it was ringette or softball. I don't think she ever knew how much of an impact she made on myself, and the other girls.

In my prayers, love you Kelly.

Sending love from Alberta to Dale, Kacy, Tori & Adam.
