With the snow falling outside her window and Coco tucked beside her, Ma
walked away from us and into the arms of our father Frank. As she left us she was
surrounded by the love of her sweet Coco and her family and friends.
Lola was predeceased by the love of her life Frank Hryn May 7, 2007 and by her parents Hans and
Valdis Tobiasen. As well as her parents Ma was predeceased by Frank’s dear sister Olga and her
husband Pete as well as Frank’s brother Stan who passed away just one month ago.
Ma lost her beloved son Gary Hryn in 2014 and while outwardly strong we know she felt his loss deeply.
Ma is survived by her son Len Hryn, her daughter Sis Harman and her devoted son-in-law Rick.
Ma also leaves behind her grandchildren:
Lara, Rich and Cara, Renae and Gavin, Siobhan and Andrew, Chevy and Jessica and Rheanna
and Felipe and Carey and Stacey.
Great grandchildren Larissa (Lara) Lola and Jack (Renae and Gavin) Richard and Ava (Rich and
Cara) Emilio (Rheanna and Felipe) Dayton, Lincoln, Lily (Siobhan and Andrew) and Rayne and
Khale (Carey Hryn).
Also mourning her loss are her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Muriel Hyrn her sister-in-law
Lorraine, and her dear cousin Danny Ellingsen and his family. She will also be missed by her
family in Norway, as well as her dear friends Mary and Marty Meewse. Ma was so happy so see
nieces Hilarie and Holly who flew in from Alberta and her niece Jay who flew in from Manitoba to
be at her side. She loved them all and shared a very special bond with Hilarie.
The most important things in Ma’s life were her family and her pets. She had a great love of children
and they in turn loved her. She has been described by her grandchildren as the best grandma in the
world and she truly was. Ma was very proud of her Norwegian heritage but she was equally proud of
the Ukrainian heritage she acquired by marriage.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, daughter in law, mother, aunty, grandma and great grandma.
We will miss her terribly but we take comfort in knowing that she is with Papa and her son Gary and
with all her friends and family who went before her.
May she rest in the peace she has earned and wait for us on the other side.
We love you Ma xox.
There will be an open house in the spring to share memories and remember our Ma.
Thank you to all who have supported us through these sad days.
