It is with great sadness that the family of Louise Hattie Fredeen Redden announces her passing on April 29, 2023 in Langley, BC, at the age of 86 years. Louise was born on July 25, 1936 on the family homestead near Macrorie, Saskatchewan to Herbert and Grace Fredeen. She spent her early years exploring her beloved hills and meadow of the Big Valley district. She attended the local Adventist church school until Grade Nine, when she went to boarding school at Lacombe, Alberta. She later attended nursing school at Walla Walla, Washington. She ultimately returned to the Macrorie area, where she met the love of her life, Vernon Redden. Together, they raised their family, ran their construction business, and then farmed together until 1995, when they moved to the west coast of Canada.
Louise had an adventurous spirit, and encouraged her family to follow their dreams, telling them they could achieve anything they set out to do. She was a wonderful cook, a cozy home-maker, and was known for always being beautifully dressed. Her vibrant smile warmed the hearts of those around her.
Louise was predeceased by her husband Vern, her parents, brother Leonard, mother-in-law Hilda Redden, and in-laws Norman Ingell, Kay Redden, Shirley and Jim Shetterly, Myrtle Redden, and Lloyd Redden. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Terry (Evelyn) of Lynden, WA; LouAnn (Wayne) of Fort Macleod, AB; Lucinda (Gary) of Langley, BC; and Charissa (Joe) of Colville, WA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tyson, Alyssa (Travis), Amanda (Tyrell), Chase, Chloe, Matthew and Jonathan; great-grandson Jamie, and in-laws Marjorie Ingell, and Harold, Edith & Merle Redden.
Louise's family wishes to thank everyone for their kind condolences. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
"Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts."
