Maria Hinton

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Hinton (nee Wiebe) aged 74 years. Maria went to be with her lord and saviour when she passed away peacefully at home on July 17th, 2023. Maria is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 55 years, Ken. Sons Sean, James, and Michael, and daughter in law Louise. Grandchildren Logan, Nolan, Peyton, Kenny, and lil Logan. Sisters Helen, Margaret, and Anne, and brother Henry. Sisters and brothers in law Naomi, Ron and Mervin and all their children, nieces and nephews. So many loving friends, neighbors and extended family and church brethren. She is predeceased by her parents Margaret and Jacob Wiebe, brothers Jacob and Willy, and daughter Shania Paulson. Maria was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan as the sixth of seven children to Jacob and Margaret on July 26, 1948. Maria met Ken, married and moved out to BC where they spent the rest of their married life. Maria was steadfast in her dedication to her family. In her role of wife, mother and Oma, Maria was exceptional. She cared deeply for her friends, family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help; regularly making welcome baskets for new babies, and assisting with meals for those in need. Maria was a successful and avid bowler for many years. Her favourite places were her garden and her kitchen. Her cooking, pies and pumpkin cheesecake were famous. Mom we love you forever and will miss you everyday. A funeral service will be held August 1st in the year of our Lord 2023 at 10am at Henderson's Langley Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Hwy Langley. Graveside burial to follow at Brookswood’s Langley Lawn Cemetery 4393 208th Street. Reception to follow at the Hinton Home.
