

Rae (Myrna) Purcell aged 80 years passed away after a short battle with cancer. Rae was the beloved wife of Bob for 60 years, cherished mother to Victoria (Keith) Biggs, Calvin (Wanda) Purcell and Tyler (Jamie) Purcell. Adored grandmother to Jennifer, Robert, Daniel and Nathan and great grandmother to Tyla, Calla, Mia, Kianna. She will be missed by sisters Joy (Mike), Anita (Les), Pat and Gail, Doreen and Joyce and countless nieces and nephews.
Rae was involved in Brookswood Langley Players since the 80s as an actress and a playwrite. She wrote and directed Canada’s Patio that was performed extensively at Expo 86. She was involved in the Writer’s Guild and was a published author. She loved travelling, dancing, writing, cards and family with a passion. She loved the farm where she had lived since 1968 having celebrated many family dinners, Easter Hunts, Christmas’ and barbecues. She recently celebrated her 80th birthday as a celebrity at Brookswood Hall in which she received an Oscar for Lifetime Achievement.
Mom was a special lady and left behind much family, many friends and many great memories. She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of her life will be held at Henderson’s Funeral Hall on Friday, March 6 at 2pm.
