Patti is survived by her husband of 47 years, Frederick (Alex) Sweet and their children Natasha Anderson (Mike) of Calgary, AB, Corrine Roberts (Mike) of Surrey, BC, Tyler Sweet (Stephanie) of Sequim, Washington and Greg Viger of Coquitlam, BC. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren that she absolutely loved more than anything, Olivia Anderson, Paige Roberts, Ben Sweet, Alexander and Amelia Viger, her siblings Cristine Makepeace (Walter), Allan Moulton, Sharon Whitehead (Jim), sister in law Lindsay Watters (Tom) and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her son Travis Sweet, sister Gayle Shedenhelm, mother and father in law Diana & William Sweet.
Patti was very well known for all the time she spent volunteering and working in the Langley Community with Langley Minor Hockey and Langley Little League. She was such a generous and amazing wife, mom, daughter, auntie, sister and friend to many. Patti made sure her children had the opportunity to try every sport or activity they wanted and she would always be there watching. Patti loved our family camping trips every summer and our 1993 family vacation to Disneyland where she has the biggest smile in every photo.
Patti was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in her late 20’s but went about life as usual and never complained. She was always such a strong and independent person who didn’t want to miss out on anything. Even once she moved into Langley Lodge for her final years she would call the Handy Dart bus and arrange for a pickup to go get her nails done or take herself to the mall or on a lunch date by herself. We were always amazed that nothing could stop her from doing what she wanted to do.
She was an inspiration to many, so loved and will be deeply missed.
Because of the current situation with covid a memorial service or celebration of life will be held at a future date.
