I will remember Rick for his warm smile and the jokes that came from behind it.
He was a class act and I'm a better person for having known him.

Co-workers for almost 40 years, Rick was a ray of light and made going to work a bit more fun.  He was always Positive Optimistic  and a Gentleman.

Our daughter babysat for Chris and Kyle - way back when we all lived in Coquitlam - that was a while ago.

In life we are blessed with those we call friends, 
to share all the special moments and to work together to make it through the hard times.
We were so very fortunate to be blessed with 46 years of sharing our lives with Rick.
I will always remember him as my brother, my partner in business and a great inspiration to finding my inner strength.
There are no words to relieve the pain of his passing and the loss of such a great man.
One can only reflect on how fortunate we have been to have been in his circle of life.
I can only listen to what Rick would have said, “Be strong now my friend, I will see you again”


We are still in shock and saddened of Ricks passing, our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Lowe Family

Our fondest memory was meeting Rick and Marianne for the first time, Chris was softball playing ball for us at the time and we wanted to meet his parents so he brought us over to their beautiful  home in Surrey, they were so gracious and loving, we enjoyed a few “Snapple’s”together that night since we don’t drink and they shared so many stories with us about Chris and Kyle, we also met “D.O.G” that night.

My deepest sympathy to the Lowe family. My uncle Chuck was Rick's father's partner in Peking Restaurant. I car pooled with Rick when we went to Langara College. I really appreciated getting a ride from Rick for those early morning classes. Along the way, I learned a few things about the Canadian way of life from Rick as I was a new immigrant in Canada at the time. It's always in the back of my mind trying to catch up with Rick some day. I am really sorry to see Rick go so soon. Rick, you are a great guy.  We will miss you.

Rick was one of the first people i met when i started my 23 year career at Cullen.  He was a beautiful and brilliant man, and i am grateful for the time i had with him.  Through him i met his beautiful wife and two fantastic sons, and whether far far away or near, i will forever call them friends.  What a beautiful service today.  Thank you for sharing.

Rick, you leave a wonderful legacy of a life lived to its fullest.  Your family is a credit to the  love you showed  them.  You are missed by friends and distant neighbours.  Our lawns have all benefited from your gardening wisdom. LOL

I have known the Durante family for many years and was fortunate, through that connection, to have met and spent time with Rick.  He was truly a wonderful man - always welcoming me with a smile and hug as if I was part of the family. I listened to his boys' eulogies and could see Rick in both of them - how proud he must have been - he and Marianne raised 2 fine young gentlemen.  What a great loss to the Lowe and Durante families and all of us lucky to have known him as a friend, neighbor or co-worker.  My heart goes out to all of you.   May you rest in peace Rick - you have left a lasting legacy of integrity and love. 

I new Rick for 40 + years and spent many good times with him and family . We watched a lot of games together and went to many together and golfed or just hung out. I don t think we ever didn’t laugh or have fun !I miss him already and my thoughts are with his family !❤️

My sincere condolences to to the Lowe Family.     
I was shocked and saddened to see the message about Ricks passing in the Vancouver Sun.   I have known Rick for over 15 years through the many purchases of engines for our Pacific Pilotage Authority launches.    
He was the nicest person to deal with and always went the extra mile to ensure his customers were happy. 
Our time in Miami during a boat show many years ago was one of the more memorable moments in the many years that I knew him.   The epitome of a great host and a pleasure to do business with.  It was through Ricks personal intervention at that event that resolved an ongoing engine problem on one of our launches.   
Rest in peace my friend.  You will be missed by many and leave behind a wonderful legacy of great memories and many many good friends.


Omg soooo very sad to hear this news about Rick. I remember when we went to kalamalka lake with them. C.j. and kyle great kids then and I hear they have become wonderful adults. R.i. p. Rick . Both gary and I have been thinking so much about you and cant say enough about what a great dad you were. You will be missed.
