Grief can be so hard, but special memories help me cope. I think of mum and you every day, and miss you both so much. I love you and am so grateful that you became my Daddy.

Bob you were always kind to me. Although I didn't tell you at the time, when the family lived in Seahurst,I felt like I was part of the family when I was around you, Frances and Leslie.
I remember you were always fixing or creating something and I was always aware of your presence. So many Scottish dinners that Frances created, when we all gathered around the kitchen table. Fun talks, good stories. Oh, and those colorful finches you were breeding for a while -- wow, there was a lot them!  You were a problem solver, quiet, thoughtful, and real hard worker. You were such a nice man and it was wonderful to reconnect with you again in Palm Springs this year before you headed home to Agassiz, BC. It felt like there was no time lapse in the 30+ years I didn't see you. You embraced me like it was 1979 all over again. I miss you, as I also miss Frances. You both had a inspirational impact on my life.
I love you. I am going to miss the physical you, but I know the memories will be remembered with great fondness.

My Dad taught me anything could be fixed or created with a coat hanger, string, a toothpick, paperclip, glue and a steady hand -- and he was right!
He taught me to fish, to select a quality hammer, to love nature, and to just be thankful. He took great pride in keeping his tools all in order, and I of course messed them up which lead to slight frustration, but Dad enjoyed teaching me anything I wanted to learn.
From going to piping, dancing, and piano lessons, to cheering me on with my a home runs at softball -- Dad was there.
Dad took fashion cues from no one. He dressed for comfort and practicality, much like how he lived his life.
My father was a reader, a fixer, a doer, a problem solver and creator. He loved to try new things, experience life to the fullest, explore new places, travel with mum and take the world in with both eyes wide open.
I am going to miss my father, but then again he is all around me, inside me, apart of me.
I love you Dad.
