Shirley was born in Vancouver, BC to Emily and David McCulloch. She had a fairytale romance with Alan, who she married on September 27, 1975. Shortly thereafter, they purchased their first and only home together where she raised her two children before deciding to go back to school to pursue her childhood dream career. She completed her training as a Special Education Assistant and worked her 20+ year career in the Delta School District. Her coworkers remember her as someone who went above and beyond to make a better place for everyone. Her family and friends remember her kindness and unwavering love for those who held her heart.
Shirley was artistic, creative, and rarely took no for an answer. She loved to garden and was dedicated to creating a peaceful, welcoming home that she always decorated for every season with her homemade creations. She always celebrated the milestones in life and made everyone’s experience special. She was so loving and there was never a detail that was too small.
No funeral is being held as per her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Muscular Dystrophy Canada for neuromuscular disease research.
She will be missed dearly, each and every day.
