Anyone who knew Ted, I am sure would have a story to tell. For those of us who knew him well, knew Ted was a very private person. For the most part he kept his work world separate from his home life, chosen few would really know Ted’s likes and loves.
When Ted retired he preferred to be called Teddy, he would say that was my work name and I’m done with that, going forward I want to be “Teddy”!
Teddy was born in Winnipeg, but was definitely a Vancouverite, living in the Vancouver area most of his adult life. He worked various jobs but, I think his most favorite was Avalon dairy! In his professional life, Logistics was his path, even in his last few months he spent time coordinating a trip to the East Coast he would never get to go on or enjoy, but made the team promise to fulfill part of his dream… no matter what.
Travel with Teddy was always fun, and we would always come home with stories to tell and relive, it didn’t matter if it was a simple trip to Alberta, or a well planned cruise to the Caribbean there was always an adventure!
Teddy never made a big deal about family time, but the truth of it was – it meant a lot to him, and he enjoyed his lunch outings with Mom and Steve, and his day trips to Hope for Thanksgiving dinner with Rose, Michael and Michelle.
Christmas was always about coordinating families and often he felt bad about us not all being together. The surprise visit from Brittany and Mike for Christmas 2022 was by far the greatest gift of all and we had Kaitlyn and Zac to thank for that.
In Teddy’s last year, we spent as much time with family and friends as we could, he valued that so much…more than anyone could even imagine.
Our hearts are deeply saddened with his passing, and we trust he is watching over us, we miss him every minute of every day.
Teddy is survived by wife Cyndi, daughters Brittany (Michael) Daniels, Kaitlyn (Zac) Mahlerwein, mother Mary, brother Stephan, sister Rose (Michael) Prynn and niece Michelle (AJ).
We love you most Tedly…
A Celebration of Life is to be held at a later date, until then please share your stories or condolences.
