We, our Family, keep your memory alive with our constant conversations and many laughs and memories we have all shared.   I was very upset to hear that we lost Tom, I have had the pleasure of volunteering with the Wine Festival for several years and though we only shared a few smiles and some good hearted ribbing between us I was really looking forward to seeing his welcoming smile again this year. To those family and friends that had the pleasure of knowing him well I envy you, if Tom made a difference in my life in just the moments I knew him for then I know he must of left behind a large hole in many peoples lives. Well Tom I toasted to you many times over the 3 days I was there and at every festival I attend in the future I will raise a glass to your memory. rest in peace big guy.

We are very sorry for your loss.

I met Tom while volunteering at the Wine Festival. Tom was a genuinely nice person, thoughtful and considerate.

My husband, Mike, and I both thought very highly of Tom. He was always friendly with a teasing moment thrown into the conversation. I worked with Tom for a number of years at the Tasting Room. He had a wonderful personality, never took himself too seriously but was there when he was needed.

Tom will be missed.

The memory of the "A" Team will last forever. No one will surpass the exploits of the Team.   The 9 1/2 years we were together at Oakalla was an experience I shall cherish forever. We had a lot of trials, tribulations and more than our share of fun.  Words can not express the comradely we had together. Godzilla

On behalf of the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival staff I want to express our deepest sympathy.   We can only imagine what you must be going through during this difficult time. Tom was a wonderful man, with a great personality.   Seeing Tom's smile at the door always gave us a  sense of confidence that the Tasting Room was well looked after.  Please know that Tom will be deeply missed by all of us.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Michelle and Tom's family and friends.  I worked with Kass in FRCC as well as on private security jobs during the 90's.  I always enjoyed Kass' sense of humor and his dedication to the job.  I'll miss Kass even though we've not seen each other in many years it is he that I would think of when times got a little hairy at work.  He taught me so much and I thank him for that, but then again he'd just shrug off any thanks because that's the kind of guy he was.  God bless him, I'm sure he's shaking his head at me right now as I write this but I loved him like a brother and I'll miss him forever.

Kass. Will miss our chats and all your words of wisdom. I enjoyed working with you. Forever missed, never forgotten. RIP my friend.

Thoughts and prayers go out to your loved ones at this difficult time. That saying "only the good die young" is so true when I think of you...much too young to die.God must have had a purpose for you and this is why he took you so early. 

Tom you will always be remembered as one of "us" and a solid co-worker who could always be counted on for assistance.

I knew Tom over the years in Corrections.  Good leaders impart unto others their knowledge and experience.  Leaders guide those seeking help and act without forethought of personal reward.  Tom stood as an individual with his own mind and a personal style that garnered respect.  He was that leader that so many others seek to emulate.  He didn't need the 'title' - he was a fierce contributor and showed both strength and pride even during times of conflict.  Tom, thank you for being all that you could be - and more.  You'll be missed.

Kass was one dude who knew how to get the job done.  He had a story for every occasion and a gleam in his eyes. You will be missed around here (SPSC). May your soul rest in peace and my condolence to your family

Michelle, I worked with Tom for about 10 years at Oakalla.  We have all gotten older since then. I looked through the pictures and was moved by Tom's smile in every one.  I am saddened that I missed the opportunity to have worked with him since then and witness a young man mature and become a role model and earn the respect of all.  May God grant you His Peace in this time of loss.

Thomas my friend I will miss you. God will welcome you at his door, as you lived your life- as a Honest hard working man, caring about your family, friends and co-workers. I worked with you since we first met at Oakalla in 1982, I liked you from our first meeting. You had our backs and we had yours. Tom, in 25 years I can think of no one that got the job done in such a unique and colourful way, you inspired to succeed, helped and motivated others to be the best they can be. You truly will be missed. My thoughts are with Michelle and all of your family.

Tommy became the brother that I lost when I was 16, he would have given anyone the shirt off his back and he did. I witness Tom over the years and when he meet Michelle I use to bug him that he was becoming a big puppy in her loving arms.

Michelle I worked with Tom at SPSC for the last 5 years. he always spoke very highly of his family especially you. As a nurse, I respected his comraderie with health care and appreciated his laughter at 3:30 in the morning. My condolences in your time of sorrow.

Tom, I was always in awe of you. You were the perfect hybrid of correctional officer and correctional supervisor. You could single-handedly manage all the details and you got everything right. I loved every moment of working with you and I knew that whenever you were on shift, everything would be ok. You were always true to your word and you had all of our backs. You were born to be on our team and you left us when you were on top of your game. I will miss you terribly – I will miss your visits and phonecalls at work that always started with “Just so you know…”. I will miss your brilliant people skills, your stories, and your lovable personality that was larger than life. You will always be remembered.

To the Kassian Family,  I knew Kass from Vancouver Jail where I worked with him for 5 years.  I was so shocked to hear of his passing.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family.  He was a good man.

Tom was a loyal and trustworthy friend. He was one of my training officers back in Oakalla and a source of constant support and guidance during my tenure as a Correctional Officer. His death has impacted me deeply and left me with tears. Tom, Go now and rest eternally in peace. To Tom's loved ones, I pray for Peace and Confort in these trying times. To my brothers & sisters in the corrections family, we share in the grief of this tragic loss and together we can remember Tom among the honour of our other fallen comrades.
