Darlene was born on Nov. 27, 1945 to Richard and Wanda Lamb (Layton) in Bremerton, WA.
All who knew this rare and precious woman understood what a true blessing she was. She was quick to give to those in need, not caring about her own sacrifice. She refused to see the negative in people, always looking past their brokenness, and instead focusing on their potential. She lived a generous life, never taking more than she needed and willing to give all she had. Darlene was an amazing example of true beauty, kindness, courage, and inner strength.
Darlene will be remembered for her sense of fun and adventure, never turning down a chance to show her playful side. She raised her kids to dance, even when everyone else was sitting. She was unconventional and quirky, from gardening to panning for gold and playing Bingo to deep-sea halibut fishing; everything she did was her own way.
Darlene’s legacy lives on through her cherished family. Her loving husband Alfred Ophaug, her mom Wanda Carmean, her sisters Vicki and Patricia, her children Ron Williams, Jr, LaDonna Herbrand (Williams), Stacy Griffith (Williams), Lana Maxey (Williams), 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and the many many beloved friends whom she considered family.
Darlene was a treasure to this world and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
