Daniel Noel Fulger was born June 17, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan. He passed peacefully into God’s loving hands on October 12, 2019 at the age of 83. Dan grew up with four siblings, Norman (Elnora), Lois (Jack Callihan), Amelia (Ronald O’Brien), and Ronald (Joan). He graduated from Dimondale High School in 1954 and spent two years in the Army. Dan married Sheila (Bates) in 1959 and in 2019 they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Together they have three daughters, Amy (Terry Ritter), Sharon (Tom Pease), and Kelly (R.C. Ryder). Dan and Sheila have nine grandchildren: Josh (Lauren), Kyler, Kelsie (Chris), Taylor, Nick, Marissa, Tristan, Brendan, Ethan and two great granddaughters, Raelynn and Briar Ritter.
Dan was a barber for 10 years and then sold his shop and went to work at Fisher Body where he retired after 27 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, playing cards, snowmobiling and camping. Family was always first with Dan. He strongly supported and encouraged all three of his daughters to choose a life-long career they would enjoy. Nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren. He spent many fun years camping, fishing, and sledding with them. He attended wrestling meets, dance recitals, football, basketball, and soccer games.
Dan has been a member of Pilgrim Congregational U.C.C. for 43 years. Dan had a way of being able to talk with anyone and make them laugh. He was a husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend to all. Dan is now at peace and free from the Alzheimer’s that affected him for the last 15 years of his life.
Please join his family for visitation on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ, 125 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. A memorial service to celebrate his life will begin at 11:00 AM.
