Alex Joseph Smith, one of the most amazing friends I’ve ever had the pleasure of having. Alex was like a brother to me. I will never forget the memories we made together. Climbing PJ Hoffmaster, Boating, Nature Walks all over Michigan, listening to all kinds of music, dreaming of what the future would hold for each one of us, watering and looking at random peoples flowers, and this winter we went snowmobiling. Alex always wanted to help someone or something. I know he is tending the garden in heaven. He was an inspiration to many. Love you man. I’ll never forget you brother, RIP.

I first met Alex in Mrs. Daniel's, Chemistry Class in high school. I remember one day when we were all working on a lab and Alex was in my group. He made a hilarious joke that made us all crack up laughing and it was in that moment that I realized I was really going to enjoy Chemistry Class with him around! Alex was a kind, caring, loving, and humorous guy! My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones, especially his family. Carol, you and your husband did a remarkable job with your son. It's never easy to loose a child but, I pray that it gives you comfort to know that he's in a better place and he is at peace. I am blessed to have been able to call Alex my classmate, my friend, and my brother. May he rest in peace. ❤

I first met Alex at our very first meeting with Medstar HR back in February. We sat and chatted for a little while before getting into the office, and I knew then how bright and kind he was. I regret not getting to know him better, as that would have been an honor. I am very sorry for his family’s loss. May he Rest In Peace.

Alex started our EMT course with us, and although I didnt have much time to really get to know him, it was easy to see that he was a very bright young man that always carried a smile on his face. My family sends our deepest condolences, and we pray that Alex has found peace, and that his family and friends may find healing during these very difficult times.

I was very saddened to hear of Alex's passing. My heartfelt thoughts are with you all. I'll always remember those morning drives to get him to school... rain, sleet, hail or snow... even sub-zero temperatures couldn't stop us. May you have peace Alex.

I am very sorry for your loss. I only knew Alex for a week. He sat next to me in our EMT orientation. I was helping him with notes and some lab procedures and was looking forward to mentoring/working with him through class.

My wife and I offer you our condolences and prayers for healing in this difficult time for you. We know Alex is in God's hands and is with Jesus.
