To all of you, I’m so sorry for your loss.  I pray The Good Lord will be ever at your side during this difficult time.  It’s been 62 two years of caring and sharing.  I’m going to miss her but I have a ton of good memories to fall back on. We were not together as much as I’d like but I always knew She was only a phone call away. She is at peace now with the Lord. Alice Bernice Coppens, age 85, of Dewitt, Michigan passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.  Alice was born March 21, 1938 in Lansing MI, A Lansing resident most of her life, Alice was a devout Catholic and lifetime member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. Alice played in the guitar group there for several years. She led a life of giving as a nurse and enjoyed numerous hobbies, including baking, crocheting and knitting.  Alice volunteered regularly at the Sparrow Hospice house and enjoyed making prayer shawls for those in need.  She also gifted crocheted Afghans for numerous events.

Alice was the daughter of Al and Kay Sermak. She is survived by her husband (Doug), brother Bernie Sermak (Nancy) Chet Sermak-deceased (Bonnie Miljour-deceased), and four children; Karen Fett (Jeremy), Michael G Spitzley (Mary), Jeff Spitzley (Linnette) and Amy Hieftje (Ed). 

Grandchildren: Michael A Spitzley (Lauren), Allison Turner (William), Kyla Baughman, Audrey Porter, Nicholas Porter (Megen), Eddie Hieftje and Emily Hieftje. 

Great Grandchildren: Michael G Spitzley, Luke Spitzley, Emma Turner, Addison Turner and Noelle Baughman
